Mungkin judul diatas akan menjadi nama dari merger yang dilakukan oleh Yahoo! dan Google. Benar, Yahoo! dan Google, dua mesin pencari terbesar di duni, telah mengumumkan “eksperimen 2 ( dua ) minggu” tentang pembagian tempat untuk media pengiklanan.

Selama waktu tersebut, Google akan menaruh iklannya pada 3 % dari hasil Search yang dilakukan pada Yahoo! website. Seperti biasa, perusahaan yang dirintis oleh Bill Gates, Microsoft, mengkritik trial yang dilakukan oleh Yahoo! dan Google tersebut. Microsoft menganggap bahwa perjanjian tersebut tidak akan meningkatkan ketertarikan customer ( pengiklan ).

“Any definitive agreement between Yahoo and Google would consolidate over 90% of the search advertising market in Google’s hands. This would make the market far less competitive”, Brad Smith, Microsoft’s General Counsel.

Namun Yahoo! menambahkan bahwa trial ini tidak akan mempunyai arti bahwa “akan ada hasil lebih lanjut dalam hubungan komersialnya dengan Google”. Well, dimata para investor, ada ataupun tidak ada hasil akhirnya, yang pasti saham Yahoo! telah naik 7 % saat itu.
